Michael Gladu
Mike Gladu returns to the North Adams SteepleCats as head coach for the 2025 NECBL season, bringing decades of coaching experience at the collegiate and summer league levels.
Since 2015, Gladu has served as the head coach of the MCLA Trailblazers, where he revitalized the program and earned MASCAC Coach of the Year honors in 2017 after leading the team to its first conference playoff berth since 2009. His summer league résumé includes head coaching duties with the Pittsfield Suns of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) and a stint as assistant coach with the Westfield Starfires.
Prior to MCLA, Gladu spent four seasons (2010–2014) as an assistant at Williams College, focusing on pitchers, player evaluations, and first base coaching. His passion for player development is evident in his extensive work with high school athletes, American Legion teams, and an 18U travel team he managed for three seasons.
A native of Cheshire, MA, Gladu played college baseball at Division II American International College before signing with the Chicago Cubs. He went on to spend two seasons in the Cubs’ minor league system with the Wytheville Cubs (Appalachian League) and Peoria Chiefs (Midwest League). A standout at Hoosac Valley High School, Gladu earned All-Western Massachusetts honors as a senior.
In 2016, Gladu was inducted into the UNICO Baseball/Softball Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to the game.
Known for his deep commitment to growing the sport in the Berkshires, Gladu is an active mentor and advocate for youth baseball. His leadership, professional experience, and passion for the game make him a strong asset to the SteepleCats for the 2025 season.
